Jamshedpur, Sept 10: Many places over Jharkhand would witness like moderate rain today, said a weather bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Weathermen said a low-pressure area over west Central and Northwest Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coast was prevailing.
An associated cyclonic circulation was also extending up to the mid-tropospheric level. It is very likely to become more marked over Northwest and adjoining west Central Bay of Bengal over South Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coast during the next 24 hours.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Udaipur Jalgaon and stretched till Northwest Bay of Bengal.
The IMD forecasts suggest heavy rain at isolated places over south eastern and northeastern parts of Jharkhand on Sunday.
The satellite picture suggested cloud formation over many districts.
Rain data suggested that against a normal of 873.8 mm the state has so far received 644.4 mm, a deficit of 26 per cent.
