Jamshedpur, June 26: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre has issued a forecast of light to moderate rain in Jharkhand today and on Monday.
Weathermen said generally cloudy sky will prevail in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh and several other districts on the two days.
The Met centre also issued an alert of lightning and thunder in isolated pockets of the state on both days.
The Met Office also issued an alert of heavy rain in some places of northern and western Jharkhand on Tuesday.
“An east-west trough was running over western Rajasthan to Gangetic West Bengal across east Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.
A cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and its neighbourhood lies over north interior Odisha extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level. The twin weather system would assist in rainfall activity over Jharkhand,” said a duty officer at Ranchi Met Centre.
Jamshedpur, Daltonganj, Deoghar and Giridih are expected to record maximum temperatures between 34 and 37 degrees Celsius while capital Ranchi and its adjoining areas will see day temperatures of around 30-31 degrees Celsius today.
Met statistics revealed that Jharkhand was still facing rain deductions of 40 percent.
