Jamshedpur, Oct 18: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light to moderate thundershowers in isolated pockets of the state today.
Met officials said the weather condition is in a transitional phase due to the retreating monsoon.
The withdrawal line of the southwest monsoon was still continuing to pass through Ranchi.
Conditions are very likely to become favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of Jharkhand during the next 24 hours.
Statistics revealed that several places across Jharkhand experienced light to moderate rain in the past 24- hours.
Raidih in Gumla district recorded over 40 mm of rain.
Weathermen said after the complete withdrawal of monsoon dry weather was expected to prevail in Jharkhand from October 20.
Ranchi and several other districts would witness a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thundershowers.
Calm wind was prevailing over several districts today. Weathermen said the prevailing wind pattern was resulting in heavy moisture incursion into the atmosphere.
