Jamshedpur, Nov 19: If the forecasts of IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre are any indication Jharkhand
is likely to witness unseasonal rain from Sunday.
Today’s satellite pictures revealed the development of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
” The low-pressure formation is taking place over southwest Bay of Bengal with an associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 Km above mean sea level. It is likely to move nearly westwards and reach west-central and adjoining the southwest Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh north Tamilnadu coasts, ” said a duty officer at Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
The Ranchi Met Centre issued a forecast of light to moderate rain at isolated places over the south and central Jharkhand on November 21 and 22 ( Sunday and Monday ).
The Met forecast suggested no significant change in minimum temperature during the next two days.
Thereafter the minimum readings would witness a gradual rise by 2-3°C due to cloud formation and donating easterly wind which results in heavy moisture incursion into the atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the weather was clear in most parts of Jharkhand today. The clear weather resulted in a drop in minimum readings across the state.
