Jamshedpur, Feb 21: IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre today issued a forecast of a two to three-degree rise in day temperature by this weekend.
“The weather is in a transition phase due to the retreating winter season. Whether condition would be mainly clear and dry over Jharkhand in the next five days at least with maximum temperature witnessing a rising trend, ” said a duty officer at the Ranchi Met Centre.
Dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24- hours.
The shallow fog was also observed at isolated places over the south and adjoining central parts of the state.
The highest maximum temperature of 32.8°C was recorded at Jamshedpur and Chaibasa in West Singhbhum while the lowest minimum temperature of 14.2°C was recorded at Garhwa.
A Western Disturbance as a trough in lower and middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level was today running roughly along Long. 65°E and north of Lat. 30°N.
Satellite pictures also indicated an induced cyclonic circulation over Punjab and adjoining Pakistan extending up to 1.5 Km above the mean sea level.
The minimum temperature hovered between 15 and 18 degree Celsius in most places across the state during the past 24 hours.
