Jamshedpur, Sept 16: IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre predicted light rain accompanied by lightning and thunder in isolated places over Jharkhand on Friday.
There will also be a rise in day temperature by two to three degree Celsius. This in turn will raise the level of discomfort index across several districts.
Weathermen said places like Ranchi, Jamshedpur and elsewhere in southern, central and northern Jharkhand would witness partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain.
Today’s satellite pictures suggested an upper air cyclonic circulation which is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal near Odisha and West Bengal coast around September 18, Sunday.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Daltonganj.
The rain deficit as of today stood at 21%. Against normal rainfall of 920 mm Jharkhand has so far this monsoon received actual rainfall of 730.5 mm.
