Incidents of burglary on rise in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Aug 24: The incidents of burglary have witnessed a rampant rise in steel city during the past one month.

In one such incident of burglary, miscreants took away cell phones and cash worth over Rs 1 lakh from a cell phone store at Sakchi in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The owner of the cell phone store lodged an FIR in this regard at the Sakchi police station this afternoon.

According to the FIR, the burglars entered the shop by cutting the false ceiling and a metallic shed.

The store used to sell as well as repair cell phones.

Apart from new and repaired cell phones, the burglars fled with cash worth over Rs 20,000 kept in a drawer.

At daybreak, police went to the shop and spoke to the owner about the loss caused to him. Police were also trying to scan through the CCTV images to reach the culprits.

A sub-inspector of Sakchi police station said they have detained a youth on suspicion and that he is being interrogated.

This was the third incident of burglary at a mobile store in Sakchi during the past one month.

Such incidents of burglary in the mobile store were also reported from Mango and several other places in steel city during the past one month.
