Bengaluru, March 11: Second Test between India and Sri Lanka in the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will be packed to full capacity.
India will play its third day-night Test on home soil at this venue. Following a resounding victory in Mohali, the hosts now lead the series 1-0.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association applied to the state government for permission to boost the capacity to 100 percent, up from the agreed-upon 50 percent. Increased demand for tickets in the state capital prompted the shift.
The 10,000 tickets that were initially available for purchase were sold out in two days, according to KSCA treasurer Vinay Mrithyunjaya.
Following the increase in allotted capacity, the remaining tickets will be available for purchase beginning Friday.
Bengaluru was supposed to host the first match of the series, which would have also been Virat Kohli’s 100th Test match. According to the altered schedule, the Chinnaswamy Stadium was awarded the hosting rights for the second Test.
