Ahmedabad, Feb 11: India will face West Indies on Friday in the third and final ODI of the series at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Since 2007, India has won all of the series between India and the West Indies. Team India today will try to make a clean sweep of the tourists this time.
Experienced player Shikhar Dhawan will join the squad today after recovering from covid. In the last match, India defeated the tourists with relative ease in just 28 overs. India chased down the modest score of 177. West Indies were bowled out for 178 runs with brilliant game from Yuzvendra Chahal’s side 4/49. Suryakumar Yadav and debutant Deepak Hooda confirmed the team’s triumph. Rohit Sharma led from the front.
In the lead-up to the 50-over World Cup next year, the team’s management could make a number of changes and put its bench strength to the test. KL Rahul will continue to reinforce the fragile middle order if Dhawan opens alongside Rohit, with Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav joining him.
Meanwhile, the West Indies, who have already conceded the series, will be hoping to put on an improvised show with the bat to make up for lost time. The West Indies failed to bat their 50-over quota in the second ODI for the 11th time in the last 17 games.
