New Delhi, Feb 3: Mayank Agarwal was added to India’s ODI squad by the All-India Senior Selection Committee after seven members of Team India, including three players, tested positive for COVID-19.
The members have been requested to report to Ahmedabad on the 31st of January 2022 for the forthcoming three-match ODI and T20I series against the West Indies, according to the BCCI.
“Every member was also asked to undergo an RT-PCR test at home before embarking on their journey to Ahmedabad and the travel was undertaken only after testing negative,” BCCI said in a statement.
“Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan and fast bowler Navdeep Saini’s (standby player) RT-PCR tests conducted on Monday (January 31st) have returned positive results,” it added.

Dilip, the fielding coach, and B. Lokesh, the security liaison officer, both had positive RT-PCR tests on Monday.
In the meantime, batter Ruturaj Gaikwad’s RT-PCR test on Tuesday came out positive. On Monday, he had tested negative in the first round of tests.
Furthermore, the RT-PCR testing conducted on Wednesday of Shreyas Iyer and Sports Massage Therapist Rajeev Kumar yielded positive results. According to BCCI, both had tested negative in the first two rounds of testing.
Notably, Indian team set to play three ODIs at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad from February 6 followed by the T20I series at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata from February 16.
