Ranchi, Sept 8: A meeting of the INDI Alliance partners on HEC was held today at Bihar Club under the chairmanship of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Mustaq Alam in which mainly former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, CPI State Secretary Mahendra Pathak, District Secretary Ajay Kumar, Congress MLA Rajesh Kashyap and other leaders participated.

The leaders said that as part of a conspiracy, Heavy Engineering Corporation, known as Mother of Industries, which was the first factory built in Ranchi after Independence, is on the verge of closure due to “the anti-public industry policy” of the Central Government.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting that a big fight will be fought to save HEC on the joint initiative of INDI Alliance labour organizations and social organizations. The leaders said that under the BJP government, all the public factories in the country are being sold at throwaway prices and the big profitable factories are being closed.

The leaders also appealed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren to acquire the said factory and let the state government run it.

“Today, the launching pad of ISRO on which Modiji is beating the drum in the name of Chandrayaan has also been made by HEC. Some of the equipment of Aditya L1 have also been made here. That is why a big fight will be fought in the state to save this factory, which will start on September 14 by mobilizing thousands of people in front of Raj Bhavan and submitting a memorandum to the Governor and demanding to start HEC,” they added.

The state leaders of INDI Alliance and the leaders of labour organizations will stage a dharna on September 21 at Jantar Mantar in front of the Parliament House and demand the Prime Minister to save the factory.
