India beat Bangladesh to win third Blind T20 World Cup title

Ranchi, Dec 17: India triumphed over Bangladesh by 120 runs in the final match of the Blind T20 World Cup in Bangalore on Saturday. India went on to register their third title. Notably, India has earlier won the world cup in 2012 and 2017.

Batting first, India put up a huge score of 277 in 20 overs. To win the world cup, Bangladesh needed 278 but was restricted to 157 in their quota of 20 overs.

Jharkhand’s Sujeet Munda also played a crucial role in the team’s success throughout the world cup. Earlier, in the semi-final match against South Africa, Munda showcased an all-round performance to take his team through to the finals.

Notably, Sujeet started playing cricket in 2014. In the last 8 years, Sujeet has been a part of many bilateral and tripartite series and will finally participate in the World Cup.

Sujeet, who lives in a temporary house built on HEC land in Dhurwa, comes from a very poor family. There are four brothers in the family including Sujeet out of which three are daily wage workers.

Talking to the media, Sujeet said that his mother Late Shanti Devi has always supported him and because of his blindness, her mother had to listen to the taunts of society but she did not pay attention to anything. She always kept his morale high.
