New Delhi, Feb 21: Team India became the number one ranked side in the shortest version of the game for the first time in six years after winning the third and final T20I versus West Indies.
The victory propelled India beyond England at the top of the T20 team rankings, with Rohit Sharma’s side now matching England’s top rating of 269.
While both England and India have a 269 rating, India has a total of 10,484 points, which is 10 higher than England’s 10,474.
After their 4-1 series victory over Sri Lanka, Pakistan (rating of 266), New Zealand (255), and South Africa (253) round out the top five countries, while Australia (249) remains in sixth place.

Notably, India won the three-match T20I series 3-0 with a 17-run victory in the third match. The Men in Blue had previously trounced the West Indies 3-0 in an ODI series. The next encounter will be a three-match T20I series between India and Sri Lanka, which begins on Thursday.
India overcame West Indies by 17 runs in the third and final T20I at Eden Gardens on Sunday, with to Suryakumar Yadav’s 65-run knock and a spirited bowling performance. Harshal Patel finished with three wickets, while Venkatesh Iyer took two.
Suryakumar Yadav (65) and Venkatesh Iyer (35*) led India’s batsmen to a total of 184/5 in the allocated twenty overs. The hosts added 86 more runs to their tally in the final five overs, pushing the total above 180 runs. For the fifth wicket, Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav put on a 91-run stand.
