New Delhi, Oct 17: Next month India is all set to host a national Security advisor(NSA) level regional conference in New Delhi on the situation in Afghanistan.
In this, India has invited National Security Advisors of many countries to attend. These countries also include Pakistan and Russia. Apart from these two countries, China, Iran, Uzbekistan have also been invited. Although there is no official confirmation on the conference and invitation yet, it is learnt that the preparations are underway.
According to the report of Times of India, in this meeting the humanitarian tragedy and security crisis arising after the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan will be discussed. It will also be discussed that the Taliban will have to protect human rights under their rule. It is expected that Indian Security Advisor Ajit Doval will lead this meeting being organized by the National Security Council Secretariat.
Interestingly, if Pakistani NSA Moeed Yusuf will come to India to attend this conference, it will be the first high-level meeting from the two countries since the visit of Sartaj Aziz, foreign affairs advisor to then Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, to India in 2016.
The tentative dates of the proposed in-person dialogue are November 10 and 11. Meanwhile, India will also be sending high ranking officials to the Moscow Format Dialogue Scheduled on October 20, where representatives of the Taliban will also be sitting across the table.
