Ranchi: Inspired by Tirumala temple’s Prasadam Scheme in Andhra Pradesh, India Post Jharkhand zone is now going to provide all devotees the prasad of famous Maa Chhinnamastika Temple, Rajrappa in Ramgarh district. This can be done by placing a money order from the comfort of their own homes. As part of their prasadam yojana, India Post’s Jharkhand circle announced on Wednesday the start of doorstep delivery of prasad from Rajrappa temple through their postal network.
According to Chief Master General Jharkhand, Sanjeev Ranjan, India Post has already been running the Prasadam Yojana in 57 cities across India. Through this scheme, they have been delivering prasads of various religious places such as Hanuman Gadi in Ayodhya and Baba Baidyanath temple in Deoghar to the doorsteps of people for quite some time. “Rajrappa temple is a fresh addition to this scheme,” Ranjan added, noting that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Hazaribag circle postal department and Maa Chinnamastika Nyas Samiti was just inked.
The procedure of ordering prasad has been kept quite simple for the convenience of general public. Anyone can send a money order to the master of the Gola sub-post office with their request for rapid post delivery. A payment of Rs. 251 is required for a 200 gm pack of prasad, while a payment of Rs 500 is required for a 500 gm pack. The temple administration will provide bangles, a portrait of Maa Chinnamastika, belpatra, and other goods in addition to the prasad.
This unique scheme has been introduced in lieu of the Covid-19 outbreak which has restricted the Maa Chhinnmastika devotees to their homes for a long time now. Despite the fact that the state administration proclaimed the opening of all temples and the admission of devotees in strict accordance with covid standards yesterday, many people may be hesitant to enter such crowded sites due to fear of infection. Hence, this scheme will serve as a way of spiritual satisfaction for many people.
