New Delhi, March 6: India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases surged to 4,29,62,953 in a single day, while active cases fell to 59,442, according to data published on Sunday by the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll rose to 5,15,036 with 158 new fatalities, according to figures updated at 8 a.m. For the past 28 days, the daily COVID-19 instances have remained below one lakh.
The active cases account for 0.14 percent of all infections, according to the government, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 98.65 percent.
Over the course of 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload was reduced by 4,436 cases. The number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,23,88,475 people, with a 1.20 percent case fatality rate.
Meanwhile, the total number of doses given out in the country as part of the statewide COVID-19 vaccination effort has surpassed 178.83 crore.
