Odisha, March 27: India successfully carried out the test firing of the Medium Range Surface to Air Missile air defence system off the coast of Balasore, Odisha on Sunday.

“MRSAM-Army missile system flight tested from ITR Balasore, Odisha at around 1030 hours intercepting a high-speed aerial target at long range. The target was destroyed by the missile in a direct hit,” said the DRDO officials.

The system is a part of Indian army. According to DRDO authorities, the missile made a direct strike on the target at a great distance during the test.

Earlier, India successfully testfired a new version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile last month off the coast of Odisha in Balasore. The missile was outfitted with cutting-edge technological advancements that had been successfully tested.
