Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj has completed 20 thousand runs in her career. These include runs from domestic cricket and international matches. She accomplished this feat in the first ODI of the three-match series against Australia, where she scored 61 runs in 107 balls, making her 5th consecutive half-century. Despite this, Australia Women thrashed Indian Women by 9 wickets in the first ODI at Harrup Park, Mackay on Tuesday to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Notably, this was Mithali’s 218th ODI match and she has retired from T20 International cricket in 2019. She has 2364 runs on her name in this format and in seventh place in its overall tally. In addition to this, Mithali Raj is the first woman player in the world to score the most runs in ODIs. She has scored 7365 runs in 218 matches. On the other hand, Charlotte Edwards of England is at number two who has scored 5992 runs.
