Daltonganj, May 18: The team of the Indian Roti Bank on Wednesday rolled out two water tankers for the dry zones of Daltonganj.

State patron of the Indian Roti Bank, Sonu Singh Namdhari and state convener Deepak Kumar Tiwary flagged off the water tankers. Deepak Tiwary told lagatar.24com this evening that they have launched Amrit Jal Sewa today and it will continue till the onset of the monsoon.

Reminded that the monsoon comes as late as the last week of June, Deepak Tiwary said it hardly matters. “We will be providing drinking water to those who need it most and have no other source to have it.”

“If need be, we will increase the number of water tankers by four or five,” he added.

He reiterated that two water tankers will run every day. Deepak Tiwary said there are dry zones in Daltonganj where drinking water is a luxury.

The move of the Indian Roti Bank has won the hearts of the poor here who are struggling to get safe drinking water.
