Dhanbad July 6: 18-member boys and girls Indian teams under Jharkhand’s national coach Sachin Rana left for Asian Junior Badminton Championship scheduled to kick start in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from July 7 to July 16.
Badminton Association of India (BAI) joint secretary K Prabhakar Rao said that in Asian Junior Badminton Championship, firstly, the team championship would be played followed by individual events.
Jharkhand’s ace national coach Sachin Rana has been once again assigned the responsibility as one of the coaches of the Indian contingents. He was also one of the members of the coaching squad in the coaching camp of players held at Chandigarh before his departure to Indonesia.

Rana’s selection as national coach keeps significance as he was bench coach of Lakshya Sen in the World Junior Badminton Championship held in Kuala Lumpur ( Malaysia) in 2015 where he became world champion.
“Indian teams are balanced. Boys and girls all players are capable enough to bring expected results in team championships as well as individual events,” he said to Lagatar24.com before leaving for Indonesia.
Jharkhand’s Sachin Rana has credit for leading Indian senior and junior teams in several international tournaments and has discharged the responsibility of imparting training in national camps.
Officials of the Jharkhand State Badminton Association and district bodies have congratulated Sachin Rana for his new assignment and expressed hope that he would repeat his performance as a coach again for the nation.
