New Delhi, June 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Biotech Startup Expo-2022 at Pragati Maidan on Thursday. Addressing the Biotech Startup Expo, PM Modi said that the number of start-ups in our nation has expanded from a few hundred to 70,000 in around 60 different industries in the previous eight years. More than 5,000 sart-ups are affiliated with the biotech industry.

The country’s first Biotech Startup Expo, according to PM Modi, is a reflection of the country’s expanded expansion in the biotech industry and is being dubbed ‘the land of opportunity in the biotech sector.’

He also listed five reasons why India is seen as a nation of opportunity in the biotech sector. According to the prime minister, these factors include a diverse population and climatic zones; second, a human capital pool; third, ease of doing business; fourth, rising demand for bio-products; and fifth, a successful track record in the biotech industry.

A biotech startup, according to the PMO, is a two-day event that will take place on June 9 and 10. Union Ministers Jitendra Singh, Piyush Goyal, and Dharmendra Pradhan were also present at the event.
