Ranchi, Sept.28: Jharkhand Jaguar deputy commandant, Rajesh Kumar (35), who was airlifted to Ranchi sustaining bullet injuries during an encounter with extremists at Nawagarh in Latehar, succumbed to his wounds. A senior official of Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Super Speciality Hospital, where Kumar, was taken for treatment, informed this saying he had already died before he reached to the hospital at 5.45pm. The incident took place during an encounter between the security personnel and the JJMP extremists. One extremist was killed in the encounter. The incident took place between the security forces and the JJMP militant organization in which one militant was killed during the firing from both sides. The senior police officer had received the information about the Nawagarh based Naxalites to carry out some major incidents. After which a search operation was conducted in the forest by the security forces. Seeing the security forces getting heavy in the firing from both sides, the Naxalites managed to escape by taking advantage of the dense forest. During the search operation in the forest, the security forces have recovered many weapons including AK-47. An intensive campaign is being conducted by the security forces in the forest to nab the Naxalites. The encounter took place after security personnel reached getting tip off regarding presence of extremists in the forest for some big attack. After the encounter, one extremist was killed and a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered.
