Dhanbad, Mar 9: Tata Steel’s Jharia Division kicked start a week–long celebration to mark International Women’s Day celebration at Jamadoba.
The officials said that Tata Steel Jharia division showed its support and recognition for female employees by organising the programmes.
The female employees participated in various activities including sports competitions, photography, poetry contests, community visits, and agarbatti and paper plate making.
The overwhelming participation of 51 female employees showcased the company’s appreciation and support for women in their workforce. The chief guest Sunita Rajoria applauded the female employees’ participation and praised their work culture.
On the occasion spouses of the Jharia Division’s chief, heads and a panel of judges finalized the winners in the singing and poetry competitions. Santosh Mahato, Regional Secretary, Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Union motivated and encouraged the female employees for their assignments.
The Tata Steel Foundation Sijua group also celebrated International Women’s Day at the Sijua Community Centre, in the presence of Deepa Gupta, Rimjhim Thakur, Manpreet Taraporewalla, and Piyush Kumar. The event was attended by 140 women.
The International Women’s Day programme was coordinated by Kumari Sweta, Assistant Manager Human Resource Business Partner, Jharia Division at Tata Steel.
