IPL 2022 final to be held with full crowd capacity in Ahmedabad

Mumbai, April 24: The schedule of IPL 2022 playoff matches was revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). After an apex council meeting, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly declared that the IPL 2022 playoff matches will be held in Eden Gardens in Kolkata and Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is a significant step.

The first playoff and eliminator for the IPL 2022 season will be held in Kolkata on May 24 and 26, respectively, while the second playoff and final will be held in Ahmedabad on May 27 and 29. During these matches, the stadium will be filled to its maximum capacity.

“As far as the men’s IPL knock-out stage matches are concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred percent attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league staged finishes on May 22,” he said.

Apart from that, the three-team Women’s Challenger will take hosted from May 24 to 28 in Lucknow’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium. Meanwhile, BCCI today also announced the venues for the upcoming South Africa tour of India comprising five T20Is in June 2022.
