Tehran: Iran has issued a strong warning to the United States ahead of the expiry of the current ceasefire, saying it is prepared to unveil new strategies on the battlefield if negotiations fail. Tehran also made clear that it will not enter talks under threats or pressure.

Iran Rejects Pressure Tactics
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accused Washington of trying to turn negotiations into a surrender process through blockades and military pressure. He said Iran would not accept diplomacy conducted under intimidation.

The remarks come as a two-week ceasefire between the two countries approaches its deadline, with tensions rising despite plans for possible talks in Islamabad.

US Maintains Hard Line
The United States has continued its blockade of Iranian-linked shipping and ports, insisting restrictions will remain until a deal is reached. President Donald Trump has claimed the measures are severely damaging Iran’s economy and said US forces are in a strong position militarily.

Washington has also warned that escalation remains possible if diplomacy does not succeed.

Hormuz Tensions Shake Markets
The Strait of Hormuz remains a major flashpoint. Iran has periodically restricted movement through the route, while US forces have intercepted vessels accused of violating the blockade.

The standoff has raised fears of disruption to global oil supplies, leading to sharp movements in international energy markets.

Regional and Global Concern
The wider Middle East remains tense, with separate diplomatic efforts underway involving Israel and Lebanon. European leaders have called for restraint, warning that actions by both sides around Hormuz could worsen the crisis.
