New Delhi, Oct 14: The Israel Defense Forces announced on Saturday that they had eliminated a high-ranking member of the Hamas terrorist organization in an overnight airstrike within the Gaza Strip, The Times of Israel reported.
The Israel Defense Forces reported that the airstrike resulted in the death of Murad Abu Murad, who was the leader of Hamas’s aerial division. The attack was aimed at a facility that served as a central hub for the group’s aerial operations.
According to The Times of Israel, Abu Murad “took a big part in directing terrorists during the massacre” last weekend, which included assailants who flew into Israel on hang gliders.
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has reported conducting a series of overnight operations, targeting multiple sites controlled by Hamas commando units responsible for the attempted incursion into Israel on October 7.
In the largest escalation of the conflict in decades, Hamas launched a wave of strikes on Israel last Saturday, killing hundreds of people.
Subsequently, this attack has led to the loss of over 1,300 lives in Israel, whereas Israeli retaliatory airstrikes have caused the death of more than 1,530 individuals in Gaza. Israel has reported the elimination of approximately 1,500 Hamas militants within Israel.
