ISRO selects two Dhanbad students for Young Scientist Program ‘ YUVIKA’

Dhanbad, April 12: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has selected Asik Chandra and Arsh Vatsa, students of Saraswati Vidya  Mandir, Sinidih, Dhanbad for its ambitious Young Scientist Programme YUVIKA 2023.

The selected students of Dhanbad would be imparted two weeks of scientific training from May 14 to  May 17 at National Remote Scientific Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad under the young scientist programme.

Under the programme, ISRO selects 150 students studying in village/ rural/ Panchayat level schools across the country for their training at different centres in the country.

Both Asik Chandra and Arsh Vatsa are class IX students of Sinidih Saraswati Vidya Mandir based in a  remote colliery area of Dhanbad, around 40 km away from the district headquarters and they have a keen interest in scientific activities right from the early days of schooling. Both the students, when contacted, said that they are excited and frantically waiting for getting new knowledge about science during the training course at Hyderabad under the Young Scientist Programme of ISRO.

Both the students said if all go as per their education programme they would like to pursue their careers as research scientists.
