Ranchi, April 28: Jharkhand Agency for Promotion of Information Technology (JAP-IT), which was conceptualized to accelerate the growth of information technology in Jharkhand and implement the policies of the State Govt. in the area of IT, is running without a CEO for over 20 days.

An insider informed this saying the situation arose after Sarvesh Singhal was removed and no one was posted at his place.

It could not be officially ascertained why the CEO was removed all of a sudden and no other was placed in his place, an insider said the situation came following some dispute over the installation of CCTV.

“Singhal planned to blacklist a private company which did not work properly but the company wanted to take over the assignment of CCTV installation. A few days after the private company official became aware of the situation, the CEO was removed,” the insider said.

When contacted a highly placed source in the personnel and administrative reform department, it was informed that a “proposal has been sent for appointment of a new CEO.”

Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh said, “File has been put up for approval.”

JAP-IT (Jharkhand agency for the promotion of information technology) established under the information technology and e-Governance department is an autonomous agency registered under Societies Registration Act 21, 1860. It provides IT inputs to government departments and agencies and assists them in computerization and networking. It also assists government departments in introducing e-Governance in their operations.
