Jamshedpur, Aug 1: Jamshedpur Eye Hospital (JEH), a leading hospital for eye care in this region, is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee.

On Sunday evening, Tata Steel managing director and CEO, T V Narendran, inaugurated various new facilities at the JEH premises including the new academic wing, preoperative check-up wing, modular OT complex and a  mechanised laundry.

Rakeshwar Pandey, President of JEH Union, graced the occasion as a guest of honour. Ruchi Narendran, president of JEH, Chanakya Chaudhary, vice president of JEH along with other committee members were also present.

JEH is known for ‘quality eye care at affordable cost’ since its inception. It has been updating its infrastructure, technology and practices while following the ethical path with the changing scenario.

The hospital has evolved as a super-speciality eye care centre in this region in a true sense.

Notably, JEH achieved almost all the quality accreditation certifications existing in the sector of ‘Small Health Care Organisation’ like ISO, Ayushman Bronze and ENABH for which the audit was completed on July 30, 2022.

As a Centre of Total Eye Care, currently, JEH is providing Comprehensive (Curative, Preventive as well as Rehabilitative) Eye Care to the entire community of Jamshedpur and neighbouring areas.

JEH also has the ambition to develop into a ‘Teaching Eye Centre’ of excellence to produce efficient Ophthalmologist and Optometrist who can serve the country to reduce the prevalence of blindness in the country from 1.99% to 0.3% (currently 1.08 Kerala to 3.67% UP and East Singhbhum is 2.13 %)

Under the infrastructure augmentation programme, JEH has been upgrading its infrastructure and services in a phased manner.

The project was started in 2015 with the OPD area.  Now, the entire hospital has been renovated with the Modular OT Complex.
