Jamshedpur, Nov 19: The career Expo at Gulmohur High School concluded on Saturday with tremendous responses from the student community across schools.

The second day of the Career Expo, which started on Nov 18, witnessed more than 3,000 students from over thirty-five schools in the city. The event was an opportunity for schools of the entire city to realise the need to make students know about these interesting career options.

It was noticed how students today are diverging towards careers in data science, artificial intelligence, gaming & coding, podcast designing and many more.

Along with the universities, faculty members along with students from J.H. Tarapore, Tarapore School, Kerala Samajam Model School and Samudayik Ucchh Vidyalaya gave presentations on various career options.

“I was attracted to the courses in animation and VFX. These things are huge now. Almost all the movies have huge scope in these areas,” said Shikhar from Narbheram Hansraj English School.

Faculty members from various schools responded with the feedback that this career fair was very helpful to his students in making correct choices for their future. Subhashree Dash from Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya said that being a science student she was happy to learn about futuristic possibilities that she was earlier unaware of.

Faculty from Manav Vikas Vidyalaya which is affiliated with the Jharkhand Academic Council said this was a huge opportunity for students of his school to know about the diploma courses offered at various Industrial Training Institutes (ITI).

Himi Purkayastha, a representative from Ashoka University said it was a huge endeavour in a city like Jamshedpur.  The response from students was great. It was really wonderful to have a separate room to conduct the Career Expo 2022 and she was able to converse with the students. It was really a nice experience to attend this career expo organised by Gulmohur High School in association with Tata Education Excellence Programme and Tata Steel Foundation.

“I hope that every attendee of this Career Expo goes back with a sense of awareness about new career opportunities and spreads the knowledge among the students of their respective schools. I also urge school administrators to understand the need to include career counselling in their curriculum and connect it to the present syllabus in subjects,” said the principal of Gulmohur High School, Priti Sinha.
