Jamshedpur, May 30: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on May 30 announced the results of the civil services examination-2021, throwing up many surprises.
A former student of Loyola School Jamshedpur, Shruti Rajlakshmi brought laurels as she got AIR 25.
Shruti currently stays in Ranchi. She used to stay in steel city between 2006 and 2013. She was the science topper from Loyola School in the year 2013.
She did her preparations for UPSC by staying in Ranchi and New Delhi. Shruti’s father, Anand Kumar, is a lawyer, and her mother works as the District Social Welfare Officer at Ranchi’s Project Building.
Meanwhile, most coaching institutes failed to provide any details.
“Our institute remained closed for two years and only reopened recently post Covid. We are not in a position to provide any details. We also did not conduct online coaching, said Sujit Jha, director of Sakchi-based Chanakya Career Academy. Officials of several other institutes spoke on similar lines.
An aspirant Shikha Choudhary, a resident of Telco who had appeared for the entrance test said, “I could not qualify for the IAS in my second attempt. If I would have cleared the prestigious test, it would have been a dream come true for me.”
An alumnus of Sophia Girls’ School in Meerut and St Xavier’s College in Mumbai (English honours), Shikha wanted to clear the civil services exam to “serve society”.
