Jamshedpur, Jan 5: Acting on tips off, the police arrested seized 88 packets of “brown sugar” by arresting four youths from two separate places in and around the steel city.
When one of the four identified as Sonu Singh was arrested while drug-peddling at Mannan Galli with 30 packets of brown sugar under Mango thana area, three youths were arrested while selling the drugs at Durga Puja Ground under Potka thana area about 20 kms away from the steel city.
The three arrested from Potka were identified as Birbhadra Maurya, Afiqul Rahman and Abdul Qayuum. The police seized 58 packets of brown sugar from all the three accused.
According to police, in both the places, those arrested were in their mid-twenties and indulged in peddling of brown sugar and tried to flee the spot, but the police succeeded to nab them all by chasing them.
The police seized a Scooty and Rs 9,400 besides three mobile phones from the three drug-peddlers arrested from Potka.
The one arrested from Mango, the police seized a motorcycle and a mobile phone.
