Jamshedpur, April 14: Acting on a tip off, a team of police officials from Chandil thana arrested a notorious criminal from the adjoining Kapali thana out-post area under Chandil thana area on Friday. Identified as Aslam Khan, the arrested criminal was caught with a loaded sophisticated pistol and a motorcycle.
Revealing about the breakthrough, Chandil sub-divisional police officer, Sanjay Kumar Singh said that Aslam Khan was wanted in a murder case registered with the Bagbera thana. Apart from the murder case, the arrested person was wanted in connection with several other grievous criminal cases registered with the police station in Seraikela-Kharsawan and East Singhbhum districts.
“The criminal was prepared to commit some crime today also by waiting at Islamnagar in Kapali this morning. But fortunately we got a tip off. Soon we set up a team led by Kapali TOP in-charge Sunil Kumar Bhokta and got the criminal arrested,” said Singh while talking to the newsmen at a press briefing on Friday afternoon.
According to police, Aslam had on February 20 this year had shot at and injured Mohammed Shahnawaz near the Tatanagar station area. The gun-shot victim who was a resident of the Parsudih area later succumbed to the injury in a hospital during treatment.
