Jamshedpur, April 13: Students of various city-based schools including Rajendra Vidyalaya returned home early today as classes were rescheduled to beat the extreme heat.

Rajendra Vidyalaya, a leading ICSE school along with a few others revised the school timing from today.

Against 7.30 am classes in Rajendra Vidyalaya and the other schools started at 6.30 am and the classes got dispersed by 12 noon instead of 1 pm.

Normally, schools reschedule timings on the directive of the district administration. But, in absence of any such directive private schools decided to change the timings of their own

Maximum temperatures have remained four to five degrees above the normal 34 degrees while it crossed the 42 degrees mark in Jamshedpur.

A few schools like Srikrishna Public School and Beldih Church have also announced a change in school timings.

According to some of the principals, change in school timings every year necessitated extra classes. The schools either work on Saturdays or a few days during the vacations.

Several other schools are contemplating revising classes’ timings due to the extremely hot and prevailing heatwave conditions.
