Jamshedpur, June 30: Rohit Singh (32) who was wanted in connection with the murder of his cousin brother Deepak Singh was arrested by Sonari police in the Nawada district of Bihar on Friday.
A resident of the Baridih locality of the steel city, Rohit had absconded after conspiring the murder of his brother, Deepak Singh, in Sonari on March 10 night.
Earlier in May, the police had arrested two shooters, Akshay Singh alias Bala and Navnit Kumar alias Bhola Yadav whom Rohit had given a contract for killing his cousin brother.
Both Bala and Bhola Yadav who are residents of Bhojpur district had taken Rs 3 lakh from Rohit for the murder.
A resident of Bairjhabra bustee in Sonari, Deepak Singh (46) had arranged the marriage of Rohit with a local girl two years ago. But the marriage failed, causing enmity to develop between Rohit and Deepak.
On March 10 night while Deepak, who was a bus driver, was returning home on foot from the market, two bike-borne youths launched a gun-shot attack on him. The victim had sustained three bullets, including two in the shoulder.
The family members of the victim rushed him to Tata Main Hospital from where he was shifted to a Calcutta-based hospital where he succumbed to his injury on April 9.
During the investigation, the police found out that it was a contract killing conspired by Rohit Singh.
