Jamshedpur, June 8: Police on Thursday arrested three persons, including two minors for allegedly committing loot at a courier company office located under Ulidih thana area in Mango on Sunday afternoon.
In this connection, the police have arrested a staff of the courier office and seized a toy pistol from the possession of one of the minor accused besides cash looted from the courier office.
Identified as Vishal Singh, the courier company office staff was the mastermind of the loot and had conspired the loot with the help of the two minors.
Sunday being a partially working day for the courier company, the office manager Anup Sharma was finishing some pending work sitting alone at the office located along Shiv Mandir line in Ulidih at about 2.30 pm when two minors barged into the office.
With both the minors wearing helmets, one of them had fished out a pistol and had trained it at the manager, asking the latter to hand over whatever cash was in the cash box. The manager had registered mild protest, but he gave in as the minor with the gun in hand had threatened to pull the trigger.
Having collected the cash amounting to Rs 29,000, both the minors came out of the courier office and fled the scene on foot.
The manager Anup Sharma immediately informed the Ulidih thana. Soon after a police team arrived there and inspected the place of occurrence. The police had also taken the CCTV footage of the crime scene.
Having probed the loot case meticulously the police unravelled it by arresting the three on Thursday.
Replying to the queries, the Ulidih thana OC Sonu Kumar said that it was not only the courier company office staff Vishal Singh but the younger brother of Anup Sharma was also involved in the loot.
“One of the two arrested minors includes the younger brother of Anup Sharma. We are interrogating the arrested persons to know further about the loot incident, ” said Kumar while talking to lagatar24.com.
