Jamshedpur, March 21: The Steel City of Jamshedpur will witness a grand tri-color rally, Tiranga Yatra on March 23, Thursday.
The rally organised by Naman, a social outfit in honour of martyrs will start from the Agrico ground at around 10 am and culminate at the same place at 12.30 pm.
Founder of Naman, Amarpreet Singh Kale Khanuja said that the rally which started in the year 2016 could not be organised for three years between 2020 and 2022 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“The rally during the past few years has undoubtedly strengthened the spirit of patriotism and nationalism among the people of Jamshedpur. Our national flag instills a sense of patriotism, national pride and belongingness among the countrymen,” he said talking to Lagatar24.com.
Notably, in 2016, Naman was formed after anti-national slogans were raised in Delhi’s JNU that India will break into pieces (Bharat Tere Tukde Honge). The Tiranga Yatra will be participated by people from all cross sections of society.
“People of all religions and classes have been appealed to cooperate wholeheartedly for the success of the programme,” added Singh, a well-known social worker.
Only tricolor and only two slogans Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Mataram will be chanted throughout the 10-Km Tiranga Yatra. After the flag-off from Agrico Transport Ground the rally will go via Agrico Chowk, Bhalubasa Chowk, Kashidih Chowk, Sakchi Vegetable Market, Sakchi Gol Chakkar, Basant Cinema Chowk, Bus Stand No. 9, Howrah Bridge, RD Tata Chowk, Police Line and Golmuri Akashdeep Chowk before culminating at the Agrico Transport Ground. Arrangements of Bhog will be made for all participants after the conclusion of the rally at the Agrico Transport Ground.
Notably, March 23 is observed as Martyrdom Day across the country. On this day, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country when they were hanged during British rule.
