Jamshedpur, April 25: The court of additional district judge-cum-special POCSO court Sanjay Kumar Upadhyay on Saturday sentenced a youth Rahul Rajak to 25 years imprisonment after finding him guilty in a child molestation case.
Apart from the imprisonment, the court has slapped a penalty of Rs 15,000, if the convict fails to pay that amount then he will have to serve additional two years.
The case had been registered with the Sonari thana on March 14, 2020 on an FIR lodged by the victim’s parents.
According to prosecution, the four-year-old girl child had playfully entered into the house of the convict in the neighborhood on that eventful afternoon. But when she returned home belatedly, she was crying incessantly.
On being asked, the child narrated what meted out to her by Rahul Rajak. Soon the anxious parents took the child to a health hub where the doctor on examining her declared that her private part had been molested.
Soon afterward, the parents went to the Sonari thana and lodged an FIR leading the police to arrest the accused immediately.
