Jamshedpur: Youth shot at and injured by bike-borne criminals

Jamshedpur, March 11: A 28-year-old youth was seriously injured as two bike-borne criminals shot at him at Kumharpara under the Sonari thana area around 11 pm on Friday.

The victim identified as Deepak Kumar Singh is a resident of the Bairjhabra locality in Sonari and was returning home on foot when the gunshot attack took place.

The attackers had fired four rounds of shots but as the victim had started running for safety, he sustained only two shots, one in the shoulder and the other in the right leg. On being injured, the victim had fallen down but he somehow managed to inform his family members over the cell phone, leading the latter to rush to the spot. He was immediately taken to Tata Main Hospital. The victim works in a private company as a driver.

City SP, K Vijay Shankar who talked to Deepak at the hospital said that the victim could not identify the attackers. The police are trying to detect the criminals by collecting CCTV footage of the crime scene.
