Dhanbad Oct 30: Congress’s firebrand Jamtara MLA Dr. Irfan Ansari had a miraculous escape when his car skidded off into a roadside farm land. The incident happened in a bid to avoid head-on collision with an uncontrolled dumper near Jainamore police station of Bokaro district last night.
The police official said that the incident occurred around 9.45 p.m. on Friday. The MLA was going to Ranchi from Jamtara by his Scorpio car along with his supporter, Pratik Sinha. Dr. Ansari escaped unhurt in the incident but his car got damaged. Later, he left for Ranchi by another car.
“The prayers and blessings of Jharkhand’s people averted this major accident. Since the dumper driver had lost control of his vehicle, my Scorpio driver had to avoid head-on collision,” said the MLA on phone.
Police officials informed that as the MLA’s car reached near Jainamore, a dumper came from the opposite side and reportedly, became uncontrolled. It broke the divider and fell into road side land before a head-on collision with the MLA’s car. The Scorpio driver managed to avert the collision but in course of avoiding the incident, the car skidded off into road side land.
Jainamore police station officers reached the spot immediately after receiving the information and dragged out the car on the road. Officials said the dumper was seized but its driver managed to escape after the accident by taking advantage of darkness.
