JAP-9 jawan shot dead in Sahibganj

Ranchi, June 24: Unidentified miscreants killed a JAP-9 jawan, Guddu Ojha, near Rangoli restaurant located near the eastern gate of Sahibganj.

 

The incident took place on Thursday late night when the jawan was returning to his home in old Sahibganj area under the Town Police Station after duty.

 

A police official said the way the jawan was targeted suggests that miscreants were aware of his movement and waiting to target him. After opening the fire, the miscreants escaped.

 

Ojha was declared brought dead at the hospital where he was taken for treatment by his relatives and friends who rushed to his rescue as soon as they came to know about the incident.  On receiving the news of the jawan’s death, they got angry and ransacked the hospital.

 

On receiving information regarding the incident, Deputy Commissioner Ram Niwas Yadav rushed to Sadar Hospital and took cognizance of the matter. The police administration started conducting raids to identify the criminal for taking action against him.

 

Anuranjan Kispotta, who is superintendent of police of Sahibganj district with additional charge of JAP-9 commandant, did not take call for his comment on the matter.
