Ranchi: The Jharkhand Democratic Front, formed during the budget session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, is less likely to make a big difference in the forthcoming Rajya Sabha election.

Morcha member Saryu Roy hinted at this saying that the front of five independent legislators was made only for the activities inside the assembly.

“Till now no discussion or consensus has been reached in the front regarding the issues outside the assembly. It is expected that all the five members of the Morcha will vote at their respective discretion in the Rajya Sabha elections.  An opinion can be formed if the members of the Morcha want to talk on this issue, but for matters outside the assembly, the Morcha will have to make a common minimum programme,” Roy said.

Roy said a front was formed as it was experienced that the independent MLAs are not getting sufficient time in the house to speak. However, the speaker did not give due recognition to the front.
