JD(U) MP Khiru Mahto urges for proper utilisation of railway CSR funds in Jharkhand

Ramgarh, Jan 7: Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways meeting was held at Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu on Saturday in which Member of Parliament cum Railway Standing Committee Member, Ramgarh resident, Kheeru Mahato raised the issue of development through CSR in the railway areas of Jharkhand.

According to the information given by the higher railway officials, almost every year railway spends Rs 12,000 crore rupees through CSR but no special work is being done in Jharkhand. Member of Parliament said that coal is transported in hundreds of rakes from Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Ranchi, Chatra etc. areas of Jharkhand, due to which railways are benefitted a lot, but CSR funds are not being spent in these areas.

Chairman Railway Standing Committee and officials of the Railway Board have taken the matter seriously and have shown seriousness in working towards spending the CSR fund for the development of Jharkhand.
