Ranchi, Nov 21: As many as 50 Agriculture Input Dealers (AID) were made aware of different aspects of farming during a 15-day training programme for agriculture input dealers organized by Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) in collaboration with NABARD at Krishak Bhawan.
In the programme, which concluded on Monday, training was imparted on different subjects. The subjects included ‘identification of seeds’, ‘Jharkhand’s Soil and Fertilizers’, ‘Chemical and Biofertilizers’, ‘Nano Fertilizers’ besides biostimulants, insecticides, fungicides, hi-tech horticulture, fertigation, micro irrigation, fertilizer control order, insecticides act, process of licensing and agriculture credit besides others.
Out of 50 AID, 45 were from NABARD while 5 were from Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC). As many as 45 lectures related to accounting and practical experiences sharing besides field visits were organized for them.
Five best AID including Photo Devi from Itkhori (Chatra), Ramphal Rawat from Deoghar, Akhilesh Kumar from Koderma, Surendra Kumar Mehta from Koderma and Neelam Barjo from Simdega were felicitated in the programme.
The chief guest of the function was general manager of NABARD Jai Nigam. Dean (Faculty of Agriculture), Dr SK Pal, presided over the function. NABARD official Pooja Bharti and former manager of Punjab National Bank MK Srivastava were present as special guests.
Coordinator of the training program, Dr BK Jha, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Prabhakar Mahapatra of Soil Science, Dr Hemchandra Lal of Plant Disease Department and Dr Vinay Kumar of Entomology Department played an important role in this 15-day program as deputy coordinators.
