Ranchi, May 3: A sleuth of the state Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police accepting Rs 10,000 as a bribe for writing a favourable case dairy and granting bail from the police station.
The action was taken at Godda.
An ACB official said, “The name of the ASI was Anod Kumar Singh. He was posted at Town thana. He was appointed investigating officer of two cases registered after a dispute between two neighbours. Surendra Kumar was one of the accused in the case. Singh demanded Rs 10000 from him to write a favourable case diary and grant him bail from the court. Kumar was not ready to pay the bribe. He informed the matter to ACB and today action was taken in the case.”
