Ranchi, Oct 27: A day after the Jharkhand Police solved the mystery behind the murder of a Gram Pradhan in Khunti, another case of Gram Padhan’s murder appeared before them from a rural area of Jharkhand’s capital district.
A police official informed that the body of Gram Pradhan Ashok Singh Munda was recovered hardly 500m away from his house in Tamar, about 70km from district headquarters.
“Munda left his house at 7 pm on Wednesday after a phone call and did not return. His son Trilochan Munda noticed the body today morning and informed the police. The body condition suggests that the murder was committed by sticks. A blood-stained stick was also recovered from the spot,” the police official said.
“So far, the reason behind the murder is not clear as the Gram Pradhan did not have any bad relationship with anyone,” the police official added.
Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police Kaushal Kishore and SP (rural) Naushad Alam could not be contacted for their comments on the matter.
A villager informed that Trilochan got suspicious after his father did not respond to any call given after he did not return till late at night. In the morning he came out to search for his father and noticed his body lying in a pool of blood.
Earlier, on October 23, a Gram Pradhan of Khunti Soma Munda and his friend James Purty were killed. Police arrested three in this connection yesterday and said the murder was committed due to an illicit relationship.
