Ranchi, Nov 18: A three-day open karate championship by the Sports Karate Association of Jharkhand (SKAJ) kicked off on Friday in Ranchi. Around 300 boys and girls from Jharkhand are taking part in this competition.
In total, there are a total of 120 gold medals on the line and every gold medalist will also be rewarded with a cash price worth Rs 1000. This is the first such instance where players are being rewarded individually.
On day one, Nirali Gudiya, Sheetal Topno, Nandani Kumari, Raja Ghosh, Nirali Gudiya and Julie Kumari won gold medals respectively whereas Smita Jojo, Raja Ghosh, Fauzia Parveen, Prince Gupta, Abhaya Bharti, Ratna Turki, Sachin Vishwakarma, Bhim Kumar, Arnav Karan had to settle for silver.
Moreover, Alyssa Kerketta, Amrit Munda, Punita Kumari, Prince Thakur, Suman Ekka, Smita Jojo, Surbhi Singh won bronze.
Moreover, National level Karateka from Jharkhand Sheetal Topno was also felicitated by the officials of SKAJ. The eight-time national champion was also the national gold medalist in 2022.
Notably, Sheetal will be representing India in the Asian Championship which will be held in Uzbekistan in December and all her expenses will be managed by SKAJ.
