Ranchi, Nov 18: Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari, who landed in controversy with his two party MLAs Naman Vixel Kongari and Rajesh Kacchap after recovery of Rs 48 lakh cash in Kolkata from their possession, today expressed his commitment to ensuring that his assembly constituency is not known for cybercrime.
Ansari expressed his commitment while replying to the queries of Lagatar24.com during a show organized by Lagatar Media Private Limited, Newsmaker in Newsroom hosted by senior journalist Dr Santosh Manav.
Ansari’s commitment came after he was asked how Jamtara gained notoriety for cybercrime though the area was represented in assembly by his father Furquan Ansari for 32 years and then by him since 2014.
“I will take care so that situation could be changed,” Ansari said admitting the fact.
Citing unemployment as a major reason behind this, the MLA shared the steps he has taken to change the situation. He said he has started creating awareness regarding cybercrime and has opened as many as 75 libraries to ensure that students should get opportunities to excel in academics and get proper jobs. He has also started focusing on industrial development in the area to ensure proper job opportunities for the youths.
Ansari on the occasion replied to many queries related to allegations of toppling the government on him, a situation under which cash was recovered from his possession and his respect for cows, the attraction of media persons for him, police cases against him among others.
When asked what compelled him to carry heavy cash in the era when cashless transactions had become popular, Ansari explained the circumstances saying he had information that by cash one can purchase the same saree for Rs 180 from Bada Bazar which is available for Rs 360 in the general market. As he wanted to purchase more to distribute among poor tribes on the occasion of World Indigenous Day with limited money, he carried the cash.
Talking about the allegation of toppling the government on him Ansari said, the allegation is baseless as he is the same person who played his role in the formation of the JMM government. He said how can he think so as during Raghubar Das’ government he was expelled from the house for 14 days for creating a ruckus while protesting against the government’s decision of diluting the tribal land protector law, CNT Act.
Asked how come he was trapped by his own party MLAs, he said the matter requires investigation but on the same side, he said that that would have never happened if complainant Anup Singh’s father Rajendra Singh had survived.
On being asked about the future of the Hemant Soren-led government, he said it will run for five years.
