Ranchi, March 2, 2022: The budget session of the assembly witnessed a heated argument between the BJP opposition and the treasury bench when Mandar MLA Bandhu Tirkey accused the previous Raghubar Das-led BJP-AJSU Party government as anti-tribal and anti-farmer.
As the BJP during the supplementary budget debate proposed the cut motion and slammed the government on poor law and order, illegal migration of Bangladeshi nationals in Jharkhand, and the failure of the government to provide jobs to youth, Bandhu Tirkey responded to allegations.
Bandhu Tirkey alleged that a big conspiracy was going on to defame chief minister Hemant Soren through social media for his pro-poor and pro tribal policies.
“Those who are alleging should also know what they did in the past. You have enough land to give to Shri Shri (Ravi Shankar). But you don’t have time to do justice with tribals fighting for their land,” said Bandhu Tirkey.
Bandhu Tirkey engaged the BJP MLA and former minister Neelkanth Singh Muda and asked what happened with the order of the previous government to cancel all illegal ownership of tribal land.
“Tell this House what happened with that order. This was your government that had scraped the Krishi Bazaar Samiti and made thousands jobless. Which government had amended the CNI SPT Act?” he said.
Neelkanth Singh Munda rose to respond to the allegations. “You must check the facts before making allegations. Krishi Bazaar Samiti was not scrapped during our period. You can ask Mathura Mahto (JMM MLA and former agriculture minister) which party was in power and who was the minister when Krishi Bazaar Samiti was scrapped,” said Neelkanth Singh Munda.
Bandhu Tirkey continued to slam the BJP and the BJP MLA and former minister Amar Kumar Bauri was his next target. “I have seen him walking around the CM (Raghubar Das) and he claimed to be the champion of dalits. Can he tell what he did for dalits when he was in the government?” Bandhu Tirkey said.
Bandhu Tirkey disparagingly addressed Amar Kumar Bauri that he should stop advocating Suri and Baniya classes. The BJP objected to Bandhu Tirkey personally targeting BJP MLAs. On this, the minister Alamgir Alam of the Congress objected to the BJP interrupting MLAs of the treasury bench.
