Dhanbad, April 3: Bank employees of state would hold a dharna at  New Delhi Jantar Manter on  Tuesday and participate in the Mazdoor –Kisan rally on April 5 in support of their 7 points charter of demands.

Jharkhand Bank Employees Federation (JBEF) general secretary ML Singh said All Indian Bank Employees Federation has called nationwide dharna on April 4 and a rally on April 5 in New Delhi. The bank employees of  Jharkhand   in large numbers would participate in these programmes in support of demands.

The main demands of bank federation are recruitment on vacant posts, regularization of job of casual, temporary staff, implementation of  Old Pension Scheme(OPS) and abolition of  existing  new  pension scheme, improvement  in customers service, safety of Reserve  Bank of India rights and strengthening infrastructure of financial institutions.

“ Besides implementation of demands, we are also opposing privatization of banks, outsourcing, interference in cooperative banking area and IPO in  Regional Rural  Bank,” said  JBEF general secretary ML Singh.

The Federation official   charged that  profit in Indian banking  area is  continuously increasing from  deposits, bank loan interest  but  employees’ strength is receding  day by day. As a result, employees are forced to work more than scheduled hour under pressure. “Due to shortage of hands in banks even customer service is affected,”, said Singh.

Bank management rather appointing  regular staff on vacant posts,  taking services of outsourcing staff to get work done. Federation leader said that for last 30 years pension upgradation of employees is pending. All these factors have compelled the employees to go on agitation pathe.
